Terms of use

Kotoba Dōjō is a personal language-learning service operated by Artsiom Chtrykov (“we”, “us”). By creating an account you agree not to abuse the service: don’t try to break it, don’t upload anything that would get us in trouble.

The service is provided “as is” — we work hard to keep it running and aim for high availability, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted access and won’t be liable for losses arising from downtime. Free accounts are subject to fair-use limits (for example, daily caps on new and custom cards).

Cards, decks, and samurai names that you create remain yours. We claim no rights to your content beyond storing it so we can show it back to you. AI-generated card content (definitions, examples, illustrations) is produced on demand and is intended for your personal study only — quality may vary, and you should sanity-check facts before relying on them outside the dojo.

Subscriptions & billing

Kotoba Dōjō Pro is an optional paid subscription. Pricing is shown at checkout (currently $5.99 / month or $50.99 / year, plus any applicable tax). Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store your full card details.

You can cancel at any time from Self → Manage subscription (Stripe Customer Portal). When you cancel, your Pro access continues until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, then your account reverts to the free tier — your cards and study history are kept. If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel beforehand.

Refunds & cancellation

Because you can cancel any time and keep access through the period you’ve paid for, we generally don’t offer refunds for partial periods, except where required by law. If you’re in the EU, you keep your statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of a new subscription where applicable. To request a refund or report a billing problem, email privacy@kotobadojo.com.

If we materially change these terms, we will notify users with active accounts. These terms are governed by the laws of Poland, and any disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Poland, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your EU country of residence.
